| Use a square
of paper. 1 Valley fold the square in half on diagonal. Press it flat and unfold it. Then repeat it making other diagonal. 2 Valley fold the square in half from the side to opposite side. Press it flat and unfold it. Repeat it for other pair of sides. 3 From the top corner, valley fold the right-hand and left-hand sloping edges to meet the middle fold-line. Press them flat. 4 Mountain fold it in half from top to bottom. Note that the crease should pass through the marked points. 5 Open out the left-hand flap and pull it over to the top, so its sloping edge comes to rest along the middle fold-line. Press it flat. Repeat this action with the right-hand flap. 6 This should be the result. Valley fold the bottom point over to the top on a line between the left and right points. 7 Valley fold the model in half along the middle fold. 8 Turn the paper around clockwise. 9 Compress the edges of the model in marked places by your thumbs and index fingers of both hands. Move the right hand to combine the compressed places. Press the paper flat. 10 Valley fold the top flap over on a line between the top right-hand flap's corner and the bottom left-hand flap's corner, as shown, thereby making the future wings. Repeat behind. 11 Valley fold the bottom right-hand point, so its left sloping edge lies on the bottom edge of the wing. Press it flat and unfold it. |

12 Open the layers slightly, as shown. Outside
reverse fold the bottom right-hand point along the fold-lines made in the previous step. 13 Valley fold the left-hand point, so its left sloping edge lies on the left edge of the wing. Press it flat and unfold it. 14 Open the layers slightly, as shown. Outside reverse fold the bottom left-hand point along the fold-lines made in the previous step. 15 Valley fold the left-hand point, setting a corner of an inclination of the future head at will. Unfold it. 16 Outside reverse fold the bottom left-hand point along the fold-lines made in the previous step. 17 Valley fold the left-hand point, as shown. Unfold it. 18 Outside reverse fold the top left-hand point along the fold-lines made in the previous step. 19 Inside reverse fold the corner, thereby making the beak's tip of the parrot. 20 The paper parrot is ready! |
