| Use a
square of paper.

Valley fold the square in half on diagonal. Press it flat and unfold it. Then repeat it
making other diagonal. After that, turn the paper over.
2 Valley fold the square in half from the side to opposite
side. Press it flat and unfold it. Repeat it for other pair of sides.
3 Press the middle of the fold-lines, until the sides pop up.
Bring the sides together and down towards you. Press the top down neatly into a square,
thereby completing a square base.
4 Here is completed the "square base" or
"preliminary fold". Open out the right-hand flap of paper and squash it into a
triangle.
5 Repeat the actions of the previous step for the remained
sides.
6 Valley fold the right-hand flap over to the left, as though
turning the page of a book. Repeat it with the back side.
7 Valley fold the bottom point as shown. Repeat it for the
remained sides.
8 Valley fold the model in half from top to bottom. Unfold it.
9 Valley fold and unfold the front flap as shown. Repeat it
for other sides.
10 Unwrap.
11 Valley fold the point "1" to the middle.
12 By pressing in the place marked by the yellow circle,
valley fold the right-hand edge, simultaneously moving the point "2" in the
middle.
13 Repeat the previous action, moving the point "3"
in the middle.
14 By pressing in the place marked by the yellow circle,
valley fold the edge, simultaneously moving the point "4" in the middle.
15 By pressing in the place marked by the yellow circle,
valley fold the edge, simultaneously moving the point "5" in the middle.

16 By pressing in the place marked by the
yellow circle, valley fold the edge, simultaneously moving the point "6" in the
middle.
17 By pressing in the place marked by the
yellow circle, valley fold the edge, simultaneously moving the point "7" in the
middle.
18 By pressing in the place marked by the yellow circle,
valley fold the right-hand edge, simultaneously moving the point "8" in the
middle.
19 This should be the result. Open the layer slightly.
20 Valley fold the triangular flap in half as shown. Press it
flat and unfold it. Repeat it for other pair of sides.
21 Open out the triangular flap and squash it neatly. At the
same time open the next right-hand flap slightly.
22 Valley fold the sloping edges of the top flap over to meet
its middle fold-line as shown. Press them flat and unfold them.
23 Pinch
and lift down the front flap of paper, so that its edges meet in the middle. Press the
paper flat.
24 Repeat the previous action for the remained flaps.
25 Valley fold and unfold the paper in the specified places
along borders of the creases as shown.
26 By pressing on lateral walls in the specified places
neatly, make the vase volumetric.
